Our call for papers is currently closed, and is due to re-open in September. Papers selected for publication in the current round will be included in vol. 3, due for release in 2026.

We welcome a diverse range of papers that intersect any aspect of ancient world studies, such as archaeology, ancient history and Classics-based research. This might include:
– essays written for relevant undergraduate courses at the University of Melbourne;
– reports of international archaeological field projects;
– museum reviews; and
– independent research.
Kylix Style Guide
Prior to submitting your manuscript, please ensure it adheres to our style guide: KYLIX STYLE GUIDE.pdf. Papers that do not meet the style requirements will be promptly sent back to authors, who will be requested to amend their work prior to re-submission.
Once we receive your manuscript, it will be reviewed by our Editor, who will determine if the paper will be accepted and published with either minor, or major, revisions. From this point, our peer review team will revise the selected manuscripts and assist with editorial advice, in order to ensure that papers are of a publishable, academic standard. As a journal dedicated to undergraduates, our aim is to offer mentorship and guidance throughout the publication process, and to prepare students for submitting their work to larger publishers. While having your paper reviewed may seem daunting, please rest assured that our friendly team will foster a non-intimidating environment in which your ideas will be valued, explored, and fully articulated.
